I could not put this book down. A great story line with what I felt were true to life reactions and emotions. I am not a fast reader but this book had me so I interested, I finished it in one day. Now
I'm ready to read the 3rd book in this series. Kristin Noel Fischer is a new favorite author of mine!
This was a great second book. I think I liked it better than the first one! This follows up on the Rose Island people and its very moving. The characters are real andd so are their struggles. Their struggles with faith and relying on God was authentically portrayed.
This book was more than I could have imagined. Heartwarming, encouraging, enlightening, are just a few terms that come to mind. It touched on so many things that I've experienced in my own life...but I don't want to say what because I don't want to give away the storyline! Frankly, it's one of the best reads I have had in I don't know when....and I read A LOT.
This book is warm and sad and exciting all rolled in one. The characters are so engaging. I felt like I wanted to be part of their community!
It's about faith and family, fear and doubt, feeling confused and yearning for the kind of strength that only comes from God.
I wholeheartedly recommend this author! Loved every word!!
This second book in the Rose Island series was every bit as good as the first. I appreciated the insight into the viewpoints from the main three characters. It clearly let me understand their struggles and perceptions through a difficult time period of their lives and how they handled adversity. The author truly seemed to realize the traumas of dealing with alcoholism, single parenthood, and raising children through the challenges of the teenage years and special needs. The Christian threads throughout the book and dependence on God in their circumstances was uplifting. I look forward to reading more by this author.
A story where PTSD was quite well developed and detailed, which I throughly enjoyed.
However, there were some cliches in the story, that I wished were written in a different manner which took this from a four star to a three star.
I loved the writing style and Jillian was so real to me. I wanted to read the story and learn the end! I am enjoying the fact that there are more books written about married couples now than ever before.
I am absolutely in love with Rose Island. Keith and Jillian story really touched me. I've been married for 20 years and almost divorced my husband a few years ago, but through God's love and guidance, we've made it. Seeing Jillian and Keith come back together was great
